Wreaths For Annual Holiday Tour of Homes

Volunteers and staff of The Moss Pot were busy early this december making wreaths to raise funds for Liverpool's Privateer Days.  The wreaths are displayed on homes entered into the Holiday Tour of Homes and are auctioned off to raise funds for the annual summer event.  We had a great group of talented individuals who expressed unique styling in each of these beautiful creations.

Styles range from rustic woodland to a more modern stylized wreath, and both traditional and modern colour pallets were used.  To find out more about the Holiday Tour of Homes visit the Privateer Days website here.

Christmas Wreath Workshop

Our latest workshop, making large Christmas wreaths, was a lot of fun. Pictured here is Ann Langille (Not the shop owner Ann Langille) holding the gorgeous wreath she created with a mixture of Holly, berries, pinecones, and burlap ribbon.  The Green and Gold ribbon adds elegance to this rustic wreath.

The other two beautiful wreaths were created by Susan Lane. I love the contrast between the bright cheerful coulors of the christmas balls and "Joy" used in the first wreath compared with the soft golds and browns she incorporated into the second. Even with such a small group this workshop was a huge success and we look forward to sharing the evening with the next group of talented participants!

Christmas is just around the corner, and we've been working away like Santa's elves to get the store decorated for the Holiday Season.

This years hottest trends can be found in a variety of merchandise, wreaths, ornaments, and flowers.

This Magnolia leaf and Crabapple wreath is stunning with copper and glittered leaves adding a festive touch.  Red glittered balls are tucked in with the crabapples to add even more sparkle.

This woodland tree is filled with gorgeous feathered birds, chocolate coloured ornaments, and whimsical birchbark snowflakes.  It's been wrapped in garlands of natural burlap and citrene green and gold ribbons.  This would make a gorgeous centerpiece in any livingroom!

Black and white are all the rage in home fashion, and what a great way to dress the dining room for the holidays.  The ornaments are both black & gold, and black & silver, and there are a variety of candles, dishes etc to help create this elegant look.  Punch it up whith a pop of colour to tie it in to an existing colour sceme.
A  feather wreath with touches of silver and a wide white satin ribbon compliments the black, gold, and silver ornaments and accessories.

Traditional red and green has not been forgotton. Come check out all the great accessories for your kitchen. Our adorable aprons (pictured above) would make a great gift for the junior chef in your life!

Welcome

Hi, my name is Ann Langille, and this is my Flower and Gift shop located in the quaint village of Liverpool, Nova Scotia.  I purchased the store in April of this year and comletely remodelled the space to create a vibrant and fun place to create unique floral arrangements and to sell a variety of gift and housewares.  Pictured above is my daughter Kate who spent the summer running the shop with co-worker Anne (pictured below with Kate) who just recently moved to Liverpool from Mackenzie, British Columbia.  Each of these girls offer thier own original flair to the flower arrangements.  Kate leaning toward the modern and contemporary form of design, and Anne who loves traditional but likes contempary design as well.  I enjoy setting up the ever changing displays as well as searching for each new and up to date products to entice you to check out our shop.

I decided to create this blog to offer a preview of some of the many goings on in The Moss Pot, including our latest floral designs, upcoming workshops and classes, and pictures of some of the events that we have done.
I hope you enjoy, and look forward to this latest adventure.
